How healthy do you think you are?

Nearly three quarters of young women in this age range say that they are healthy; of these, 10% describe themselves as ‘very healthy’ and 61% as ‘quite healthy’. A quarter (24%) describe themselves as ‘not very healthy’ and 4% as ‘not at all healthy’.

Do you feel there is enough support and advice available for young people your age?

Over half (55%) of young women in this age range don’t think that there is enough support and advice available for young people, rising to 61% of 16- to 18-year-olds. A third (35%) think that there is enough advice available but this falls to 29% of 16- to 18-year-olds.

Attitudes to drinking

More than a third of young women in this age range agree or strongly agree with the statement ‘I need a couple of drinks to give me courage before I go on a night out’ (34%) although a third (30%) disagree with it and another fifth (20%) strongly disagree. Almost half of young women this age worry about doing things they will regret later after they have had too much to drink. One in three young women agree or strongly agree with the statement ‘I often drink more than I'd planned because my friends are drinking too’ (35% in total) but half disagree, including 21% who strongly disagree with it.
