How healthy do you think you are?
The vast majority of girls aged 7 to 11 say
that they are healthy: 48% describe themselves as ‘very healthy’
and 43% as ‘quite healthy’. Only 4% describe themselves as ‘not
very healthy’ and 1% as ‘not at all healthy’. Broken down by age,
7- to 8-year-olds are more likely to describe themselves as ‘very
healthy’ (58% compared to 37% of 9-10s).

How happy are you with the way you look?
Most girls (90%) in this age range are happy
with the way they look: 55% are ‘very happy’ and 35% ‘quite happy’.
Only 9% are not happy with the way they look, of which 3% are not
at all happy. Girls aged 7 to 8 are more likely (62%) to say they
are very happy with their appearance than 9- to 10-year-olds
(46%).

How and where do you prefer to exercise?
Two thirds (64%) of girls in this age range say that they prefer
to exercise at school during PE. Other popular options were walking
or cycling (49%), exercising at home on the Wii (43%) and dance or
gymnastic classes (42%). These were followed by after-school sports
clubs or teams (27%) and exercising in their free time with mum or
dad (26%).
